Stretch Marks
Stretch Marks are red or white marks on the service of the skin that occur when skin has been stretched. They typically occur after pregnancy affecting between 75% and 90% of women or after losing a lot of weight. They are caused by glucocorticoid hormones preventing fibroblasts from forming collagen and elastin fibres that keep the skin taut. They often look quite unsightly and can lead to lack in confidence. Many people try using creams to tighten the skin but cosmetic treatment does exist for this condition.
Skin needling, also know as collagen induction therapy, is a proven method for getting rid of stretch marks along side other beneficial treatments such as fractional laser therapy and microdermabrasion.
