Permanent Lip Implants

Lips with red lipstick

PermaLip is a cosmetic enhancement procedure to treat the lips, providing a fuller, smoother look to them. So why do people have this treatment? Well obviously not everyone is concerned with their lips and the appearance of them, but many people are. Many women desire fuller lips, and consider the mouth to be a focal point of their face; other people have various conditions that affect the appearance of their lips such as ageing, sun and element exposure and smoking.

What PermaLip does is provide fuller, smoother lips and sorts out these afflictions such as lip creases and wrinkles. Now there are other procedures and products out there to achieve similar goals, but PermaLip is different in that it does this for a much longer period of time. The average Collagen or Restylane injection will last about 3-9 months whereas PermaLip, as the name suggests, is permanent. However the process is fully reversible and can be removed whenever you wish, and the size adjustable so you can reduce or increase the size of the implant.

The procedure is quite straightforward and a small incision is made at either end of the lip and the implant is threaded through and centred. The same procedure is then repeated for the other lip. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and only takes about an hour at most.

There is no visible scarring from the procedure as the incisions are made at the corner of the mouth. It is CE marked and looks much more natural than other fillers. The implants are soft and thus also feel natural. The only side effect may be some bruising and swelling in the days following the procedure.
