Macrolane

Macrolane is a non-surgical body shaping treatment that can naturally regenerate body contours. Using a simple injection process it is most popularly used as a form of breast enhancement, though it can be used for other body areas such as the buttocks and calves as well as areas that have previously had liposuction.

Macrolane breast enhancement injections are crystal clear gels. They are specifically formulated for the breast ensuring that they do not migrate or cause any concerns with the breast tissue. Also unlike silicone implants, Macrolane injections do not interfere with the results of Mammograms. Macrolane is completely safe as it consists of hyalauronic acid. This acid is already present in your body and thus it is not recognized as a foreign substance, this means there is no rejection of the substance.

Macrolane injections are quick, taking about 45 minutes, and are performed as a walk in and walk out procedure. It is a single procedure and normally requires “topping up” approximately once per year. After the procedure a small waterproof dressing is applied and a short course of antibiotics are provided to ensure no infections. It is suggested the area is supported, for example in the case of breast enhancement a support bra should be worn.

As this is a non-surgical treatment it can be performed under a local anaesthetic, unlike standard breast surgery which requires a general anaesthetic. Macrolane causes no scarring and has no downtime afterwards. That means you can resume your normal routines almost immediately the only exceptions are that it is advised to avoid strenuous sporting activities for a week or so.
