Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Laser skin rejuvenation is often referred to as a non-surgical face-lift. Of course this is just a nickname as it is in no way a face-lift, and the terminology comes from the fact laser skin rejuvenation is used as a way to treat fine lines & wrinkles, ageing, sunspots and improves broken blood vessels and red and blue facial veins.
Laser skin rejuvenation is a non-ablative procedure meaning that the actual surface of the skin remains unchanged by the treatment. It is also a non-invasive treatment so there is actually no intrusive surgery involved and as a result there is no healing or recovery time either.
As mentioned before, laser skin rejuvenation is great for getting rid of tell tale signs of ageing such as fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots and facial veins. It also tightens up the skin and gives a silky feel to it, gives even face colouring, plumps up cheek areas and gives a youthful glow.
So what does laser skin rejuvenation actually involve and how does it work? Lasers are directed deep down to the collagen level of the skin. These gentle lasers use precise light energy to stimulate the production of elastin and collagen fibres. The treatment smoothes out the texture of the skin which in turn reduces facial wrinkles and lines, it also corrects slight imperfections such as sunspots and can completely clear up facial veins and broken blood vessels.
It is not uncommon for anyone undergoing the laser skin rejuvenation treatment to experience minimal discomfort, the most common being a stinging sensation on the skin as the laser pulses are delivered, but there are anaesthetic creams to help ease this.
A typical treatment takes about an hour, but often less, meaning it can be done during a lunch break from work. As there is no down time there is no reason not to continue your day to day activities and makeup can be applied as you wish. There can be a little redness or swelling following the procedure, but this will fade quickly.
