Acne Scarring
When Acne is left untreated it can sometimes result in Acne Scarring. This scarring can be mild to severe depending on the severity of the active acne. There are two main types of scars, hypertrophic scarring and atrophic scarring.
Hypertrophic scarring is a growth of tissue, atrophic scarring is a loss of tissue. There are several types of atrophic scarring including atrophic macules, depressed fibrotic scares, follicular macular atrophy, ice pick scars and soft scars.
